PLANT MONITORING

SmartCAM - Alpha/Beta Continuous Air Monitor

The Lab Impex Systems SmartCAM is a next-generation Continuous Air Monitor (CAM) that provides the user unparalleled performance in terms of its detectable limit, sensitivity and speed to alarm. The SmartCAM utilizes state-of-the-art Spectral Measurement Analysis in Real Time (SMART) Technology, that provides real advances in alpha measurement techniques. Using an isotope peak fitting algorithm proven to be more accurate than regions-of-interest or tail-fitting methods, results are faster, more accurate and more reliable than ever.
In operation, the SmartCAM continually monitors alpha and beta particulates deposited on a static filter with a high-efficiency detector. Air is drawn through the filter by an external wall mounted vacuum pump or distributed vacuum main. Features and benefits:
  • Large color touchscreen display.
  • Measurement of alpha and/or beta particulate.
  • Allows the user to identify air concentration by isotope or as gross alpha.
  • Detachable head assembly for remote monitoring.
  • Full alpha spectral analysis with unique radon-thoron peak fitting algorithm.
  • Improved measurement quality as a result of alpha spectrum stabilization by means of continuous air pressure and temperature measurement.
  • Fixed filter or moving filter configurations available.

  • Low cost area gamma monitor: single or dual detector
  • Wide dynamic range (suitable for a variety of applications)
  • Detector options include GM, ION chambers, and scintillation
  • Installed or transportable use
  • Full network capability

CMS Interlock SIL Monitor

The CMS Interlock SIL is based on the standard CMS Gamma monitor designed specifically for interlock applications. While retaining all the features and functions of the CMS Gamma, the CMS Interlock SIL also includes an additional counting circuit called the SIL Safeguard Monitor (SSM). The SSM works in parallel with the CMS and provides safety related interlock relays. The SSM is a safety related product which provides a risk reduction level suitable for use in SIL 2 applications. This is a patented hardware only solution that provides a high integrity alarm relay contact output for interface to a broad range of industrial applications. The device may be used with a range of sensor options including GM and Ion chambers (CMS Ion).

CMS Ion - Ion Chamber Based Interlock System

The CMS Ion is an advanced radiation monitoring system for use within nuclear facilities. It includes a CMS Gamma as the base station, a ICI-1 Ion Chamber Interface, and a ICD Ion Chamber Detector. The system is designed to continuously and accurately monitor gamma dose-rate in an environment and provides a high measurement range up to 50Sv/h (5,000 Rem/h). For safety related cell interlock applications, the CMS Interlock SIL is used as the base station module. Offering the equivalent features and functionality of the CMS Gamma, the CMS Interlock SIL also provides interlock relay outputs independly certified as SIL2 (IEC61508). Highlights
  • Measurement range from 100 uSv/h (micro) to 50 Sv/h
  • Maintains safety function (over-range condition) in excess of 25,000 Sv/h (ICD-1)
  • Available in a SIL configuration adhering to IEC61508
  • Independently type tested
  • Satisfies the requirements of IEC60532 and IEC61010-1

OLEM - Online Liquid Effluent Monitor

Ultra Electronics supply a range of Liquid Effluent Monitoring Systems for continuous gamma radiation measurement in a liquid process line.
OLEM - Online (where the detector element is placed adjacent to the line)

Bypass Liquid Effluent Monitor

Ultra Electronics supply a range of Liquid Effluent Monitoring Systems for continuous gamma radiation measurement in a liquid process line.
OFEM - Offline/Bypass (where a pump is used to extract a sample from the line and routed to a detector and measurement chamber)

CMS Noble Gas - Noble Gas Monitor

The Noble Gas Monitor is an integrated solution for the measurement of the airborne concentration of radioactive (beta emitting) noble gases.

Key points of performance include:

  • Excellent MDL resulting from minimal detector response to external sources of gamma.- Low response to NORM such as radon and thoron.
  • Available in a fixed or transportable configuration.
  • CMS analysis algorithm provides a low stable measurement at background, but ensures a fast response to rising concentration levels.
  • Optional gamma dose-rate detector for dynamic gamma background compensation or dose rate measurement.
